Roasting coffee at the source offers numerous advantages, both for flavor and sustainability. By roasting close to where the coffee is grown, farmers and producers can maintain greater control over quality and freshness. The beans are roasted in optimal conditions, often tailored to the coffee's unique characteristics, resulting in a cup that best reflects the origin's distinct flavor profile.
It directly supports the local economy. It empowers coffee-growing communities by creating jobs, retaining more value within the region, and promoting sustainable practices. This approach ensures that farmers benefit more significantly from their product, helping them thrive and reinvest in their land and operations.
Lastly, it reduces the need for intermediary steps, which can mean fresher coffee for the consumer and a smaller environmental footprint due to simplified logistics. It’s a win-win for quality, the community, and sustainability!
Storing coffee beans properly after opening the bag is essential to preserving their freshness and flavor. We recommend using an airtight container such as a glass jar with a tight-fitting lid or a vacuum-sealed coffee storage container. This will help limit exposure to oxygen and maintain freshness, afterwards store the container in a cool, dark cupboard or pantry, away from direct sunlight, ovens, or other heat sources.
